Cook Franklin Fragment is an experimental collaboration between William Franklin and Bruce Cook. Three sessions of approximately 30 minutes were recorded with each artist listening and responding to what the other was playing in the moment. Halfway through the session, players would switch instruments to increase variations and widen sonic perspective.
“How adventurous and gratifying to search for sounds and music in 30 minutes of spontaneous deliberation. There is something invaluable in what is captured and cannot be duplicated ever again. Joyful and beautifully erratic, these sessions brought us an equal if not stronger appreciation for sound, music, and life. In an era where concentrating on anything can be a challenge, we strongly believe going for a walk while listening to these creative flares may bring us mindfulness to our existence.”
